উল্লেখ্য, গত বছর এইচএসসিতে অটোপাস দেয়া হয়েছে। এবছরও এসএসসি ও এইচএসসি দুটিতেই অটোপাস দেয়া হতে পারে। এই পরীক্ষা গুলো গত ফেব্রুয়ারি ও এপ্রিলে নির্ধারিত ছিলো। তখন করোনার সংক্রমণ এখনকার সময়ের চেয়ে অনেক কম ছিল। ঐ সময়ে ১০ ভাগের নিচে নেমে গিয়েছিল। আর যা এখন ৩০ ভাগের বেশি। নভেম্বর ও ডিসেম্বরে পরিস্থিতি কী হবে তার আগাম কোনো তথ্য দেয়া সম্ভব না। তাই বলা যায়, পরিস্থিতি অনুকূলে না আসলে পরীক্ষা হবে না।

তবে পরীক্ষা নেওয়া সম্ভব হলেও বাংলা ও ইংরেজি এসব আবশ্যিক বিষয়ের পরীক্ষা হবে না। এখানে পরীক্ষা হবে বিভাগ অনুযায়ী নৈর্ব্যক্তিক বিষয়ের। সেটাও আবার ৫০ নাম্বারের দেড় ঘণ্টার পরীক্ষা। অন্যান্য বিষয়ে শিক্ষার্দের আগের পরীক্ষার ভিত্তিতে মূল্যায়ন করা হবে। আর যদি, পরীক্ষা নেয়া সম্ভব না হয়, তবে এসাইনমেন্ট ভিত্তিক মূল্যায়ন হবে। যার কাজও ইতিমধ্যে শুরু হয়েছে।
